Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Meowsiam website and mobile apps (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use Meowsiam

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

2. The Service

Meowsiam lets you log cat training sessions, photograph cats, and build a private collection ("CatWall") with AI-estimated breed identifications, points, badges, and an optional leaderboard. Breed identifications are estimates for entertainment and record keeping — they are not veterinary, genetic, or pedigree determinations.

3. Not veterinary or behavioral advice

Training tips in Meowsiam are general educational content. They are not veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If your cat shows signs of illness, distress, or behavioral problems, consult a licensed veterinarian or qualified behaviorist. Never withhold food or use punishment-based methods in connection with the app.

4. Your content

  • You retain ownership of the photos and notes you upload.
  • You grant us a limited license to store, process (including AI breed analysis), and display your content back to you — solely to operate the Service.
  • You agree to upload only photos you took or have the right to use, and only photos of cats. Do not upload photos of identifiable people, unlawful content, or content that infringes anyone's rights.
  • Respect animals and private property when photographing cats.

4a. AI renders and videos

  • Renders, styled stills and Video Studio clips are generated by AI from your photo and your choices. They are creative interpretations: a breed, a look or a motion may come out different from what you expected, and no two generations are identical. Credits are returned when a generation fails; a finished clip you simply dislike is not a defect.
  • You may use the renders and videos made from your own cats for personal purposes and on your social media. You may not use them to deceive, to depict real people, or in any way that breaks the law or the policies of the platform you post them on.
  • Custom text you type for a video (what the cat says or does) must be your own, must not be hateful, sexual, violent or infringing, and must not attempt to make the system behave outside its purpose. We may refuse or remove generations that break these rules.
  • Unless your plan includes watermark removal, generated videos carry a small Meowsiam mark.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use offensive, impersonating, or misleading display names (they appear on the leaderboard);
  • Access the Service by automated means (bots, scripts, API keys) except through the app itself or with our written permission;
  • Probe, scrape, overload, or interfere with the Service or other users' accounts;
  • Reverse engineer the Service except where the law permits;
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to harm animals.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Subscriptions and purchases

  • Meowsiam Standard and Meowsiam Premium are auto-renewing subscriptions, billed weekly or annually at the price shown at checkout. There is no free trial; billing starts at purchase, and the subscription renews automatically with your payment method charged each period. Cancelling stops future renewals; paid features remain available until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • On iOS and Android, purchases are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play as in-app purchases, charged to your store account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled in your store account settings.
  • Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Prices may change with notice; changes apply from the next billing period.

7. Termination

You can stop using the Service or delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or where required by law. Upon deletion, your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT BREED IDENTIFICATIONS ARE ACCURATE OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEOWSIAM AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

10. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify the Service and these Terms. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights you have under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
